Wetland/Pond Life

11am - 1pm, 10th April

Come and Investigate Bethnal Green Nature Reserve's ponds. Learn about the amazing pond life diversity found in our urban wetlands. Pond-dipping is great way to engage with nature on your door step, suitable for all ages. We will use nets, magnifiers, microscopes and ID guides to delve into the underwater world of dragonflies, newts, diving beetles and leeches.

Bushcraft

11am - 1pm, 17th April

Come and start you bush craft journey at Bethnal Green Nature Reserve. Learn the fundamental skills of fire lighting and water purification. These skills will provide the basics in knives, axes and fire steels handling.

Foraging

11am - 1pm, 24th April

Explore Bethnal Green Nature Reserve's woodlands and learn out about the wild sessional food and medicinal plants that can be harvested through out the year. Pick the garnishes for your evening salad and learn about plants with antihistamine properties. Wild foods and medicines, brings you closer to nature and allows you to interact with the plants, shrubs and trees in a sustainable way.

Trees

11am - 1pm, 8th May

Learn more about the ecosystem of trees. One of the planets great food, shelter, carbon regulators, habitat and oxygen providers, trees are an integral part of human and non-human life. Explore Bethnal Green Nature Reserve woodland and learn the skills you need to confidently identify different species. This journey isn't about knowing every tree, its about enjoying, connecting and appreciating our woodland cousins.
