Kupala Mid Summer Festival is returning to Bethnal Green Nature Reserve for a fourth year! Kupala is a traditional pre-christian Slavic holiday, originally celebrated on the shortest night of the year. This year the festival will feature collaborations with a growing population of displaced Ukrainians artists who have recently made their way to the UK.
Expect traditional midsummer night’s floral crown making, Ukrainian food, Bandura playing, alongside games and installations by artists challenging the notions of coloniality and cultural heritage.
The event is family friendly & open to everyone! Please come along equipped with your own torches, reusable drink containers (cups/mugs) and a sense of curiosity.
