Join our new monthly herb harvest + medicine making workshop at Phytology & The Create Place.

The first session will take place on Sunday 7th April, 11am - 3pm.

Spring Greens:
Join us in the Phytology meadow to harvest the abundance of Cleavers, a wild spring tonic herb that supports our immune systems and offers nourishment at this time of year.
We will share knowledge at Phytology with a guided plant walk before heading to the Create Place with our harvest to make a skin soothing lotion together and sample a ‘spring first aid tea’. You’ll learn about seasonal herbal allies growing around us, and contribute to making a stock of lotion to be distributed within our local community. You will be able to take home a pot and the recipe for future making as well!

The mobile apothecary will distribute remedies on a fortnightly basis in collaboration with Refugee Community Kitchen in Bethnal Green. To find out more about this or volunteer with us, please contact Rasheeqa or speak to a member of the team at the session.

About Herbalists without Borders and the Mobile Apothecary:

Herbalists without Borders London have been offering support and solidarity to displaced people in the UK and abroad with herbal medicines since 2015.
In winter 2018 a root harvest and medicine making workshop organised in partnership with Phytology and St Margaret’s House in Bethnal Green, to create a stock of first-aid remedies for herbalists to take to Calais & Dunkirk, inspired an exciting model for community-delivered herbal healthcare.

In 2019 we are developing this collaboration, with support from St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, to make a programme of urban nature connection, medicinal plant cultivation, harvesting and knowledge-sharing, and herbal medicine distribution to street communities in Bethnal Green.

All are welcome to get involved.
