Stick In The Wheel - Billboard

Stick In The Wheel are Nicola Kearey and Ian Carter. Their recent billboard artwork directly references a prayer pamphlet found within St Jude's church around the turn of the century.

St Jude's church was destroyed during the Second World War. The ruins of the building remained untouched for years, gradually becoming wilder and wilder, transforming into what we now call the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve.

Stick In The Wheel's creative practice as musicians and writers often involves the reinterpretation of historical material in the attempt to re-engage people with their past, acting as a voice linking now to then. The new artwork will be featured on the Phytology billboard until April 20th, 2016.
