Community Ecologies - Singing with the Birds of Bethnal Green Nature Reserve with Catherine Clover

Join artist Catherine Clover on 26th July for a playful, informal, and participatory workshop exploring the voices of wild birds in Bethnal Green Nature Reserve. No experience or skill is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to listen closely to the birds that share our city.

Through a series of activities, we’ll tune in to the sounds of local birdlife, reflect on how climate change may be affecting them, and use our own voices to sing with and for the birds.

This one-hour workshop includes:

  • A guided listening walk

  • An introduction to Catherine’s ideas and bird-inspired scores

  • A vocal demonstration

  • A short rehearsal

  • A collective voicing session

Catherine Clover is an artist who explores the relationship between people, birds, and landscape through voice, song, and language. Birds are vital indicators of ecological health, and this workshop offers a unique opportunity to engage with them in a meaningful and joyful way.
