Join us for an conversation with award-winning barrister and author Monica Feria-Tinta, exploring the law, climate change and the protection of the natural world.

Monica is the author of the critically acclaimed A Barrister for the Earth, described as “a vital book for our times”. She acted in the seminal Los Cedros Rights of Nature case, a world precedent for an ecocentric approach to nature protection, as well as landmark climate cases around the world. Her work has contributed to systemic changes addressing climate change and the protection of the natural world.

Monica was a finalist for Barrister of the Year at The Lawyer Awards 2025 and was named Woman of the Year at the Women & Diversity in Law Awards 2025. In 2025, she also became the first recipient of The Times’ “Lawyer of the Week”.

Described as “one of Britain’s most dazzling legal minds”, Monica’s work has been featured in The Times, The Guardian, Prospect Magazine, Vogue, Vanity Fair Italia and El País, as well as on BBC Radio 3’s Private Passions and Radio 4’s Start the Week.

A Barrister for the Earth was a finalist for the Westminster Book Awards and was selected by Forbes as one of its climate books to read for 2026. The book is now also being developed into a television legal drama by Eleventh Hour Films, a Sony-owned company.
