Monica “Mo” Wilde - Sustainable Harvesting Practices Lecture (online)

Bethnal Green Nature Reserve is excited to host an online talk by Monica “Mo” Wilde. This lecture forms part of the Experimental School of Urban Ecologies: Foraging & Land Stewardship online talk series.

Mo is a modern wild woman following old ways of living and learning. As a forager, ethnobotanist, and award-winning author, she is dedicated to exploring the deep relationship between people and plants. Now based in Scotland, her work centres on wild food, traditional medicine, and the science that connects them.

She runs The Wildbiome Project, an important study into the health impacts of living on wild foods. Mo is a Fellow of the Linnean Society and a founding member of the Association of Foragers. She has appeared on BBC Countryfile, The Food Programme, and Scotland Outdoors, spoken on numerous podcasts, and advocates for the Indigenous Ju/’hoansi people of the Kalahari.
